You must visit the Download Page on RealAudio's web site and download the Real player 5.0 software for your system. Progressive Networks offers a free player, and a commercial version with more features. The free player works fine with all of our music.
If you are using a Mac, the sound capabilities are built into the unit. It helps to have external speakers, but they are not essential.
If you are using a PC, you must have a sound card installed in your PC. (Most PC's nowadays come with a sound card). but if you don't have one, you're out of luck. As with the Mac, external speakers are helpful but not essential.
Are you connected thru AOL?
AOL is a real thorn in the side for all RealAudio content providers. The software does not work with the AOL browser, but, we believe, can work with the Netscape browser when used with a PC connecting through the AOL network. Mac surfers using the AOL browser are presently out of luck. If anyone believes we are mistaken with this information, please let us know.
You've downloaded the RealAudio software but don't know what to do next:
The key thing about downloading the RA software is that this does not install itself into your system!
You must take note of which folder/directory the installation file is going to. Once the download is complete, you have to find the dowloaded file and start the installation by opening the file. From this point on the installation software does it all for you.
The installation should be done with your Netscape or MS IE browser closed. After the installation, open your browser and the software should work when you open any RealAudio file.
Still Not Working?
